Amy recommends:
Valerie Solanas: The Defiant Life of the Woman Who Wrote SCUM (and Shot Andy Warhol), by Breanne Fahs
She’s known mostly as the crazy lady who shot Andy Warhol. And this book shows there is a lot to really detest about Valerie Solanas. But there’s so much more to be fascinated by, like her SCUM [Society for Cutting Up Men] Manifesto, that predicted a lot of future technology and set a blueprint for key aspects of modern feminism. This is a book about an artist and thinker who is also a contemptible criminal.
